The Cold Embrace
2020 - Bronze
Edition of 1
194cm high x 148 x 70

Commissioned by the Telford and Wrekin council to commemorate the 75 anniversary of the end of the second world war. Unveiled at a private ceremony in November. "The Cold Embrace." depicts a person, reaching out to grasp and hold, a pose that has become so familiar due to our need to self isolate from one another during the Covid pandemic. The absence of the loved one is magnified by the empty boot prints sunk deep into the bronze. These boot prints were taken from a local veterans boots which adds poignancy.
